Our Country

Greece is a small country in the south-east of Europe. Our town, Preveza, has a population of about 20,000 people and is in the north-west of Greece in the Ionian Sea, near Corfu island.
It has a long and interesting history with Paleolithic findings, an ancient Greek town and an oracle nearby as well as the Roman town, Nikopolis built in 31 B.C. Byzantines, Venetians and Turks left us with monasteries, castles and lots of interesting places to visit.
Today, we love to enjoy our ice creams at the many shops at the water front, eat fresh fish in the taverns,  go for long walks in the narrow streets of the town  that remind one of a Greek island and most of all we love to swim in the blue crystal waters of the Ionian Sea and watch Dalmatian pelicans and other rare  birds , sea  turtles and dolphins in the protected   Amvrakikos Gulf. Come and visit our town in the summer!!!
